The first league match of 2026 saw numerous Independence Blue Cross Achievements Unlocked as Philadelphia Union battled rivals D.C. United.
With the Union trailing by a goal, Head Coach Bradley Carnell's last change of the evening gave forward Stas Korzeniowski his league debut. After earning his first-ever start with the club in Concacaf Champions Cup against Defence Force F.C., the 23-year-old entered in the 79th minute in place of Bruno Damiani.
Korzeniowski was promoted to the Union after spending the 2025 season with Philadelphia Union II in MLS NEXT Pro where he scored 12 goals. The forward was originally selected by the Philadelphia Union with the 53rd overall pick in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft.
