The Philadelphia Union's 2025 Major League Soccer season has come to a close, and on Wednesday, December 3rd, Head Coach Bradley Carnell and Director of Academy and Professional Development Jon Scheer addressed the media in an End of Year press conference at Subaru Park.
It took place an hour after the club announced their first signing of the offseason, 20-year-old Ghanaian forward Ezekiel Alladoh, and both club leaders spoke about the new addition and what he brings to the group.
"I think being proactive in the market is always a sign of intent, especially coming off of a successful season, where we look to continue to maintain those standards," Carnell said.
"Ezekiel had been spoken about and been in the pipeline for quite some time now, and he really suits and fits our style of play. He's very aggressive, very direct, runs very vertical in transition. With our game model intact, shows ways exactly what type of striker we were looking for, just to complement Tai and Bruno at this stage."
Standing tall at six-foot-three, Alladoh comes from Swedish Allsvenskan side, IF Brommapojkarna, where he scored eight goals and registered one assist in 32 appearances across all competitions in his recent season.
"We always speak about tools within the game model, and he had a really good skill set of how he put teams under pressure without the ball, and how he got himself into chances with the ball, and his willingness to run without it in possession and be an option in the attacking transition," Carnell said.
With his signing, Alladoh became the Philadelphia Union's club-record transfer, Scheer confirmed in the press conference.
"It shows the ambition of our club and our ownership group, so we're looking forward to working with Ezekiel moving forward," he said.
