Two years ago, South African centerback Olwethu Makhanya moved across the world to sign with the Philadelphia Union, in hopes of making it on the MLS stage.
The 2025 season has been his most successful yet, as he’s made a difference in multiple matches for the first team after more than a year of hard work in MLS NEXT Pro with Union II.
