It's Andre Blake taking on homegrown Matt Freese for the accolade that will be decided by the Union faithful. The first nominee comes from Andre Blake from the Union's contest in Nashville. In the 23rd minute Blake made a huge stop on Alex Muhl at the door step of the Union goal after a Nashville SC corner. Walker Zimmerman flicked a near post header to the far post which forced Blake to race to the other end and get a hand on another Muhl shot that again was saved.
Freese looks for the prize with his first-half stoppage stop on Orlando City’s Junior Urso during the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. As the clock entered first-half stoppage, Facundo Torres served in a strong corner kick that fell in the box for the striker. Taking it off the chested bounce, he rifled a right-footed blast on frame but was iced by the keeper with a reaction stop.
