Our Philly, Our Fight | The playoffs run through Philly

Slogan-16x9

Jungite aut perite It’s a latin phrase meaning Join or Die that’s been ingrained in American history and this city's culture since 1754, then adopted as a motto of the Philadelphia Union when the team was added as an Major League Soccer expansion club in 2010.

16 seasons later, Philadelphia Union has established itself as a league powerhouse, enjoying one of its most successful campaigns to date in 2025. The team completed the regular season with a league-best 66 points, a club record of 20 wins, plus 14 clean sheets and a +22 goal differential, securing the Supporters’ Shield at home for the second time in club history.

While the curtain has closed on the 34 game slate that saw Philadelphia Union entertain thousands week in and week out by maintaining the most consistent success of any team across the entire country, the show is just getting started.

The Major League Soccer postseason is on the horizon, and with the Supporters’ Shield deservedly in the hands of Philly fans, the playoffs run through Subaru Park. It's time to join the Boys in Blue in their fight for another trophy.

Jungite aut perite. Join or Die. This is Our Philly, Our Fight.

This year’s team is an unrivaled one. The experience of veteran team leaders like Alejandro Bedoya, Andre Blake, Jakob Glesnes, and Kai Wagner, complemented by fresh international talent in Bruno Damiani, Tai Baribo, Jovan Lukic, and Danley Jean Jacques, then fortified by the team’s surplus of Homegrowns and promising youth created the perfect foundation for a new staff to build toward the club’s goals.

During his introductory press conference, Head Coach Bradley Carnell said this: Being part of a Philly sports team is something special. When you speak about the major leagues sports in Philadelphia, there's always a grittiness, there's always a toughness, there's always an edge that each team plays with. I'm excited to be part of that community and continue to build the culture.

With the guidance of sporting director Ernst Tanner, and a steadfast commitment from players and staff both old and new, Carnell has achieved just that, maintaining the integrity of Philadelphia's unwavering spirit, while implementing the tactical preferences he shared on that same day: I believe in being on the front foot, proactive, in your face, aggressive, and very counter attacking.

Over 34 regular season matches, the group's team-first approach to the game has paid off in dividends. 25 different players appeared in the team's starting XI and 18 different players hit the back of the net, combining for a team total of 57 goals. On the other end of the field, the Union tallied 14 clean sheets and allowed just 35 goals against, boasting the top defense in all of Major League Soccer despite frequent backline rotation.

Philadelphia Union’s playoff run begins on Sunday, October 26th at Subaru Park -- they'll kick off their best-of-three first round series against the winner of the Eastern Conference Wildcard matchup between Chicago Fire and Orlando City.
