The first-place Philadelphia Union return to MLS action at home this weekend, hosting Toronto FC on Saturday night at Subaru Park. Tune in with MLS Season Pass on Apple TV to watch the action.

The Boys in Blue currently sit at the top of the East and the Supporters’ Shield standings as the first team to secure 50 points, and they’ll look to maintain their momentum through the final nine matches of the 2025 regular season.

The group hasn’t played a match of consequence since their come-from-behind win against Colorado Rapids on July 26th, instead taking on Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt in a 2-2 international friendly.

They’ll enter this weekend’s contest following well-deserved rest, two weeks of training, and the addition of fresh face, as the club signed new striker Milan Iloski this week. The 26-year-old American started training with team on Tuesday, and during Head Coach Bradley Carnell prematch media availability, the team leader announced his new player be available for selection against Toronto.

Saturday’s opponent hasn’t fared nearly as well as Philly this year, currently below the playoff line in 12th place. They have just 21 points, but they’ll welcome in some major reinforcements as on Thursday, it was announced that they had acquired USMNT attacking midfielder Djordje Mihailovic from Colorado Rapids for a club-record transfer fee.

Should he travel with Toronto to Philly, it’d be his second trip to Subaru Park this summer, recently appearing in the Rapids’ starting XI and playing a full 90-minute shift in the 3-1 battle.

“We're preparing for anything, and we're preparing for their best. They have a pretty good squad with Corbeanu, who you know out on that wing and is a dangerous dribbler, and they can hurt you in transition,” Carnell said.

“We know that we found it out in the first game where we got hurt on transition, where we were a little bit sloppy in the details, but then we found a way to get back in the game and really use that quality in the final 20 minutes of the game to turn that one around. It's not an easy game by any means.”

The last time Philadelphia Union faced Toronto FC was at the start of summer, beating them 2-1 in Canada by way of a last chance rally featuring goals from Nathan Harriel in the 86th and Kai Wagner in the 92nd. The comeback win was part of their unbeaten nine-game month of May.

Their second meeting with Toronto is is part of an essential stretch, as the top three spots in the East are separated by just three points with Cincinnati and Nashville close behind.
