Philadelphia Union’s Player Pathway Program, sponsored by Kinetic PT, is across the ocean on an unforgettable adventure, blending world-class soccer training with a deep dive into British football culture.
Facilitated by EPL Sports Tours, the PPP's trip to the United Kingdom offers players and families an ideal combination of high-level soccer experiences and cultural exploration.
World-Class Training & Competition
The players hit the gym at historical St. George's Park for recovery sessions led by the England National Team's professional coaches, gaining valuable insights into elite European training methods.
On the pitch, they faced strong opposition, giving them a chance to apply their skills in challenging match environments. The PPP teams faced Bury FC, Connah's Quay FC, and Tranmere Rovers FC.
Off the pitch, the nearly 150 Union representatives will get to experience the highest levels of soccer with two Premier League matches, Wolves vs. Tottenham Hotspur and Brentford vs. Brighton & Hove Albion, as well as EFL Championship contest featuring Watford and Burnley. Each match will offer the players a front-row seat to top-tier football, with a chance to observe elite players and strategies up close.
Aside from watching three games, the group has explored three iconic football grounds, including Anfield, the home of Liverpool FC, Old Trafford, the home of Manchester United, and SToK Cae Ras, the home of Wrexham AFC. These tours offered a deep dive into the history, pride, and passion behind some of the UK’s most beloved clubs.
Culture, Sightseeing, and Team Bonding
Beyond soccer, the trip was rich with cultural excursions and sightseeing. From exploring British landmarks to experiencing everyday life in the UK, players expanded their worldviews and deepened their team connections.
This UK tour was more than a trip—it was a key step in each player's development journey. By combining elite training, competitive play, and cultural exposure, the Philadelphia Union’s PPP continues to deliver opportunities that shape young athletes.
About the Player Pathway Program
The Player Pathway Program (PPP), sponsored by Kinetic PT, is an invitation-only, club-neutral training program that provides selected talented players with training based on the Philadelphia Union’s player development methodology. The PPP is tailored for elite athletes Ages 7-14 seeking high-quality, supplemental training and competition that complements their existing club training schedule.
To enter the PPP, every player must be identified or recommended through our various Philadelphia Union Youth programs or the summer's Open ID Sessions. Once invited into the program, players will be placed into their Age Group Training Pool.
Training pools are structured to adapt to each player's individual needs, allowing flexible group movement throughout the year to ensure continuous growth, development, and new challenges.
