Philadelphia Union II earned a 2-1 comeback victory over Chicago Fire FC II at SeatGeek Stadium on Sunday afternoon, extending their winning streak to three matches as they continue their push toward the MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs.
Chicago opened the scoring in the 30th minute when Damyan Villanueva found the back of the net off an assist from Vitaliy Hlyut, giving the hosts a 1-0 advantage heading into halftime.
Union II responded in the second half. Midfielder Kellan LeBlanc brought Philadelphia level in the 66th minute, finishing a chance created by Matheus De Paula for his first goal of the afternoon. Eight minutes later, Academy forward Theo Reed completed the comeback, scoring in the 74th minute off an assist from defender Jordan Griffin to give Union II a 2-1 lead.
Philadelphia held Chicago scoreless the rest of the way to secure all three points on the road and its third consecutive victory.
