Recap | Union II secures another shootout win

For the second time in a week, Philadelphia Union II secured the extra point in a shootout, this time defeating Orlando City B 4-2 from the spot. Regular time at Subaru Park finished 1-1, sending the match to penalties where Oliver Semmle was the hero, making two saves to ensure his team took away two points from the match.

55', LeFlore lets it rip! | The scored remained 1-0 through halftime, but Union II came out strong in the second half, finding an equalizer 10 minutes in. It was Isaiah LeFlore who leveled the score in the 55th minute, scoring his first-ever goal for Union II. The build-up began with a series of smart passes on the right side, before Sequera sent a service to the center of the box -- his pass was headed out, but LeFlore spotted the ball, settled it with his chest, and powered it to the back of the net from distance to make the score 1-1.

64', Union II subs | Head Coach Ryan Richter made his first changes of the match in the 64th minute, swapping Stas Korzeniowski and CJ Olney for Sal Olivas and Willyam Ferreira. The subsittion marked the first-ever pro appearance for Ferreria, a 16-year-old Philadelphia Union Academy product.

72', More subs | Richter made another pair of subs in the 72nd minute, replacing Kellan LeBlanc and David Vazquez for Jamir Johnson and Henry Bernstein.

86', Final Union II change of the match | Richter's last sub came in the 86th, as Leandro Soria entered the match for Eddy Davis III.

End of regular time | Despite the fresh legs, a determined effort, and 34 shots to Orlando City B's six, Union II was unable to find a game-winner, and the match was sent to a shootout from the spot.
