All 16 teams participating in Snow Bowl 2026 presented by The SWAG and YSC Academy were on the field Tuesday with the U-16 and U-15 divisions seeign massive changes in the standings.
U-15 | Philadelphia Union 3, Newcastle United 1
Philadelphia Union's U-15s put on an impressive performance on Tuesday afternoon, as they took down Newcastle United, 3-1. Philly got off to a flying start against the English side with Jude Larbi scoring off a long throw-in on quick shot in the box in the eighth minute. The goal capped off an impressive offensive build up that saw Mason Cannon ring a shot off the crossbar and be cleared out for the throw. The second half saw both teams pushing for the next goal with a Newcastle chance going just wide in the 34th minute while the Union were denied a second via a reaction stop by the keeper.
The Baby Snakes kept up the pressure with a chance created out wide by Grant Simmonds which unlocked Newcastle's defense to allow a chance from close range by Filipe Cruz. Jayden Staines added a third for Philly with a darting run behind the back line before flicking a shot around the keeper.
Newcastle avoided the shutout late in the contest with a penalty kick being awarded and ultimated converted by Jack Skelton.
U-16 | Philadelphia Union 4, Lyngby Boldklub 1
Philadelphia Union's U-16 squad continued its unbeaten start to Snow Bowl 2026, knocking off Danish side Lyngby Boldklub by a 4-1 margin. The game's opening goal came off a free kick opportunity for Philly with Samuel Gallego's left footed cross into the box headed into the net by guest player William Mihelic.
Gallego added to his stat line in the 35th and 38th minute to bag a second half brace in quick succession. He kicked off his scoring spree tracking down a saved shot and quickly firing it on target. Gallego then added another via a quick restart to extend the Union's advantage. Forward Jayden Kouadio helped grow Philly's lead in the 43rd minute, notching a quick finish in transition.
Just like in the U-15s match, the Union saw its clean sheet spoiled via a penalty kick with Lyngby's Villads Honore Ostermann scoring in the 54th minute.
U-18 | Philadelphia Union 3, S.L. Benfica 1
The U-18s completed the Union's perfect day at the tournament, rallying in the second half with three goals in six minutes to knock off SL Benfica. The Portugese side opened the scoring early in the match off a transition moment. Isaac Ferreira capped off the play with the goal in the eighth minute, finishing off a centering pass from Ricardo Fernandes.
The scoreline remain unchanged but Philly took control over the final 15 minutes of the match. After seeing back to back set piece opportunities end up just wide of the Benfica net, Michael Capretto scored a brace with big finishes in the 48th and 52nd minute. Matthew Addai got in with the scoring as well in the 50th minute to send the WSFS Bank Sportsplex into a frenzy.
U-16 | S.L. Benfica 2, Borussia Mönchengladbach 1
The opening match of Day Two kicked off the Portuguese side S.L. Benfica maintaining its unbeaten status as they defeated Borussia Mönchengladbach. João Silva opened the match converting from the penalty spot in the fourth minute to give the side a first half lead. Benfica doubled its lead in the 37th minute off an impressive solo effort from Tiago Alves as the forward cut between two defenders before depositing it into the back of thet net. Mönchengladbach's Lukas Andree scored for the second-straight match, with his penalty kick finish in the 40th minute cutting the scoreline to 2-1.
U-15 | CF Monterrey 4, Chicago Fire FC 0
Monterrey continued to showcase its one of the tournament's most potient offenses, as they knocked off Chicago Fire FC by a 4-1 scoreline. Los Rayados kicked off their scoring spree in the first half with a quick attack that sprung Jaime García free in the 19th minute for the finish. Monterrey got back-to-back set piece goals from Oscar Orlando Caballero and César Abdiel Almaguer in the 33rd and 38th to take control of the match with the final strike coming from Iker Estrada.
U-15 | Borussia Dortmund 3, Manchester United 0
Two quick goals early in the match set the tone as Borussia Dortmund secured a spot in the Semifinals after knocking off Manchester United. The match kicked off with a big save from Dortmund goalkeeper Jayden Theodor Kusi to get momentum on the German side early. The Black and Yellow took advantage with Luca Elias Zwahr scoring in the fifth minute followed up by 10th minute counter attack goal from Adam Braham. The second half saw Dortmund get a penalty kick conversion from Peer Maximilian Ole Kluike but United kept battling but ultimately saw four shots ring off the post in the second half.
U-16 | Chicago Fire FC 3, PSV Eindhoven 1
Chicago found the back of the net just 27 seconds as they picked up an impressive victory over PSV Eindhoven, 3-1. Adrian Cerda delivered the early strike, take a cutting the ball onto his left before curling from 20 yards out past the keeper. The Fire couldn't be stopped the rest of the first half with Finn McCraney capping off a counter attack in the 23rd minute and DeAndre Beckford finishing off a set piece right before halftime. PSV avoided being shutout for the second-straight match late in the game, with an impressive finish from Souhel Kake with five minutes remaining.
U-18 | Lyngby Boldklub 5, Alberg NextGen 0
The final match day 2 saw Lyngby's U-18s open their tournament with a resounding victory over Alberg NextGen. Behram Bagci led the way with a first half brace to set the tone for the Danish side after Oscar Wind started the scoring in the eighth minute. Bagci followed with the next two in the 14th and 24th minutes while Noah Krucov and Sven Cappelletti opened their accounts in the tournament.
Wednesday's Action
Snow Bowl 2026 presented by The SWAG and YSC Academy continues on Wednesday with the U-16s and U-18s hitting the indoor IBX Field turf. Five teams in the U-16 division enter with at least three points so every match will feel like a playoff match as they look to book their spots in the Snow Bowl Semifinals on Friday. Meanwhile the U-18 action continues with the final day Borussia Dortmund has secured its spot into the U-16 semifinals so the stakes will be high for the final three games of the group stage with Lyngby taking on SL Benfica with a spot in the semis potentially on the line too.
