Philadelphia Union played New York City FC on Saturday night at Subaru Park, winning 2-1. With the win, the Union move up to third place in the Eastern Conference with 40 points. Midfielder Jose Martinez scored off of a Quinn Sullivan cross in the 23rd minute to make it 1-0. Forward Chris Donovan scored his first career MLS goal in the 81st minute to extend the lead. New York’s Andres Jasson scored in the 86th minute to make it 2-1.  

The Union will return to Subaru Park on Saturday, July 22nd (8:00 p.m. ET / Apple TV, Univision, FS1), where they will face Club Tijuana in their first game in group play for the 2023 Leagues Cup.
