FIFA World Cup 2026 | Blake and Jamaica shut out New Caledonia

Philadelphia Union goalkeeper Andre Blake is one win away from guiding Jamaica back to the FIFA World Cup, as the Reggae Boyz knocked off New Caledonia by a 1-0 margin.

With the result, Jamaica will face off against African side DR Congo on Tuesday, March 31st with a spot in this summer's 2026 FIFA World Cup on the line. Kick off from Mexico is set for 5PM ET with fans able to watch on FS1.

Playing in Guadalajara, Mexico at Estadio Akron which is more than 5,000 feet above seal level, the game's lone goal came in the 18th minute as Bailey-Tye Cadamarteri found the back net in the first half. The Reggae Boyz held New Caledonia to just one shot on goal which Blake made in the 42nd minute en route to another shut out for his international career.

The victory moves Jamaica to within a win of reaching its first World Cup since 1998. The Reggae Boyz will play DR Congo on March 31, with the winner going into Group K alongside Portugal, Uzbekistan and Colombia.

Blake, who captains the squad, has made 93 appearances for Jamaica, recording 35 clean sheets, including conceding just three goals in the final round of qualifying.
